The countdown continues to the “Godspell” premiere on April 11th! In the meantime, the cast and crew have been feverishly rehearsing music and staging. If that was not enough, they have been painting billboard signs and building set pieces for the production! What a dedicated crew! If you have an interest in helping out, drop us a note! It takes a community of people to put on an AMT production!photo 4 photo2345

Signs, Signs, Signs…

Producer Pary Bennett and cast member Loren Jackson put up the billboards for AMT’s fall production of “Putting It Together”. Keep an eye out all over town for the brightly painted signs! They are visible on First Street, Tenth Street and Indian Wells. Smaller versions of the signs will be in front of Alamo Optical on Tenth Street and another on the corner of Ninth Street and White Sands Boulevard. With one month out from opening night, tis the season to be advertising!

Painting some Signage!

Cast member Joni Castello spends some time painting the billboards for the AMT fall production of “Putting it Together”. Painting signs is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to producing a show! If you have an interest in the technical aspects of theater, AMT would like to encourage you to come out and help.  Please leave a note in the comment section below if you have a desire to get involved.

Sign Painting

Think of it as a large coloring book! This weekend Joni Castello and Ronnie Brockett came out to trace and paint signs for our upcoming show “The Wizard of Oz”! Above is an example of their handy work. Be on the look out for when we post them around town! If you are interested in the technical side of theater, want to sew, paint or build; drop us a note below! We love to have fresh faces helping with AMT!!

A busy day for “Joseph”

This past Saturday, March 3rd, was a busy day for the cast and crew of AMT’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”! There were sets being built out at the AMT Hut, billboards being painted in town and two promotional events to advertise the show! The first was the Cheer Off at Alamogordo High School. Shortly after was the Alamogordo Public Library’s Birthday Celebration. There was a performance by the show’s Narrator (Joni Castello), Joseph(Anthony Kumpf) and the Narrator’s Chorus. A lot of effort is going into this fantastic show!
